Hibiclens safe for dogs

Can I use Hibiclens to give my Puppy a bath? Is cephalexin considered to be safe for dogs? Are Listerine breath strips safe for dogs? How to dilute chlorhexidine solution? It is also a widely used ingredient in commercial shampoos.


It can be used in the same way as many other disinfectants , such as the aforementioned Betadine.

Chlorhexidine is safe to use on dogs. We can use it without first consulting a veterinarian, but one should be contacted if there is any doubt. It is used both to treat environmental surfaces, and in less concentrated forms, to treat the skin, ears and oral cavity. It is effective against bacteria, fungus, yeast and viruses.


Wet coat thoroughly with warm water. Two to three times a day, clean away debris (if necessary) and apply the antiseptic and ointment until the skin is healed. So, if your pup has skin issues, definitely get you some Hibiclens and keep it on hand for seasonal and really any skin issues you see. This is the same stuff that surgeons prep their hands with to kill all the bad stuff on their hands before operating.
